is there programming for the 1088 alone?
You can only program a Whistler wiht it's specific EZ Scan version...BUT, you can open a TRX CDAT saved archive in WS EZ Scan and clone it, or vice verse. I use the same CDAT archive to program my TRX-1, TRX-2, and WS1098's, using three different EZ Scan versions.

I can't say I ever tried this!
One question, what does the 1098 do with NXDN entries that were carried over from a TRX model?
I don't know, I don't have NXDN stuff in mine! The TRX1 and TRX2 EZ Scan makes no sense, because the base EZ Scan has the battery level menu selections as well...

I just received a WS 1088 scanner
In my computer I have software programming titled TRX-1 can I program my 1088 with this? or is there programming for the 1088 alone?
Yeah, I can't imagine how irritating it would be to have to maintain so many versions of the same "codeplug" programmed from scratch for every model!
Maybe the variations have to do with the firmware update functions, and the fact that they mod each DSP and CPU differently at differnt times requiring slight changes to accoun tfor that in each versions specific EZ Scan?

import the archive in the proper version of ezscan, remove all non compatable systems, then copy the configuration TO the scanner/sdcardWell, I read a TRX2 backup archive into a WS1080 version and it did convert. The TRX2 had a lot of NXDN trunked and conventional entries.
The conventional NXDN entries seemed to all convert the a P25 type while all Trunked NXDN systems converted to a DMR type system except two which converted to standard Motorola type systems. The conversion from the unsupported NXDN types seems to be more random.
I had all mine labeled with NXDN in the name so it was easy for me to delete all the unsupported NXDN entries.
The WS1080 scanned the rest of the TRX2 entries just fine after restoring the TRX2 archive into the WS1080 EZScan and deleting all the old NXDN stuff!
I'm glad you pointed this out as it sure makes things easier trying to keep the two models synced with the same scanlists.

You may have answered a question I have, but to make sure, I'll ask. I am purchasing a TRX-1 and would like to set it up exactly as my WS1095. I would be able to use the CDAT archive from the 1095 to set up the TRX-1, with the EZ SCan version for the TRX-1? Thank you for your assistance.
yes. I’m the same (I have 3 1098s, a 1095, a 1080 and a 1088) and they are all programmed EXACTLY the same. I do all the work in one app (mobile versi on), upload the code plug on the 1098/95s, export the configuration and then open it in the other one (for portables) and upload the code plug for them. Just pick over the code plug and make sure everything is EXACTLY as you want it because it’s a pain to discover a mistake at the end and also if you make any tweaks/changes on the scanners, keep notes and make the same changes in the app.
