My new Whistler TRX-2 has distorted audio ... sounds like electrical interference but all of my other scanners sound nice and clear.
Need to set the squelch at "8" (other scanners run at 1 or 2).
Have un-pluged all other electrical wall warts but no difference.
Starting to think I have a defective scanner.

Anyone else having this problem with their TRX-2?

No, But my squelch has to be at 9 or 10, which is the norm for Trx-2 users and I also have a external antenna. Try moving the scanner to a different location

I contacted the seller and they said to send it back for an exchange.
So I hope the new one coming does not have the same problem.
I have three scanners, Two Uniden and the one Whistler.
Side by side the TRX-2 is the only one that has the noise and distortion.
Sounds just like the noise and distortion a strong RF interference would make but if the other scanners are not effected then the TRX-2 must be defective somehow.
I guess I will know when I hook up the new TRX-2.

Maybe the other scanners are interfering, did try and relocate the trx-2?

Did you have that electrical type of interfernce on all channels that had conversations and did you try to move the antenna and was the antenna at the back of the scanner? If I use 8 for squelch it doesn't close properly and gives a squelch tail with noise.
