Has anyone ever used a 32GB SDHC or SDXC card successfully in a TRX-2 ?

Also, has anyone ever used a Lexar SD card?

The manual says 32GB max and they recommend SanDisk.

I'm replacing a counterfeit (according to the SanDisk website) 8GB SD card and was wondering what everyone else is using or if anyone is using either of these cards.

Thanks

I usually use SD cards other than SanDisk, but use cards smaller than 32gb, using a larger card takes longer to load, may be subject to more errors and isn't needed. There are plenty of inexpensive 16gb SD cards out there that will work fine and be more than large enough for you.

Thanks, it doesn't seem as though Lexar makes anything smaller than 32GB anymore.

After looking at the San Disk website, it makes me nervous purchasing any of their's, with the exception of ones in retail packaging.

I also saw a 8GB Fujifilm on Amazon, but it only had 10 reviews. No one or two stars, though.

In my opinion, you are seriously over thinking all this, pick up a cheap card or three and keep a spare. As long as you are backing up your programming in EZ Scan you won't have any issue. I think I have only replaced the SD card a couple times in my 4 GRE/Whistler scanners in the last 5+ years.

Good idea, I'll have to re-think my original ideas... :)

Unfortunately, over-thinking is a down-side to retirement...

There's a song in there somewhere:

I use Samsung 32GB, and you can use any partition software and set them to 8GB, or smaller depending if you store recordings, to make them boot up quicker. After a year or so you can partition the unused area to a new 8GB part and make that active and make the original part inactive with no drive letter to spread out tear and wear on the memory cells.

Not all cards will work in a whistler. Get CLASS 4 cards. I use sandisk from amazon.

If those using other than sandisk class 4 would provide the exact model of cards that work, we could compile a list of known compatible cards.

A shop had a sale on Playstation memory cards and I bought one that I think where 1GB and they where $1 but where full size and only scanner that used full size SD where the TRX-2. It's only for saving game data so are real slow but worked fine in the scanner.

I've used Lexar and different Samsungs and some other and all work. But the issue are that recorded files always have a couple that cannot be read and that regardless of SD card used. It's some issue with the scanners operating system or the SD card interface.

It's probably no speed issue reading and writing to the SD card as booting with that super slow Playstation card, I think it said Class 1 on it, or Samsungs fastest card partitioned to 1GB takes the exact same time. It would be interesting to see if anyone have a SD card that works properly that can't be used in a TRX-2.
