Hi All, just updated the TRX2 EZ scan software to Ver 3.45, now it will not recognize the CPU firmware version. EZ scan advises that it needs to be version 7.4 or else it will not see it. Can i roll back the EZ scan version somehow ?
Thanks.

Do you have a TRX-2 or a TRX-2E? They use different EZScan I believe and have different CPU updates also.

Hi thanks for the reply. I have the TRX-2E scanner with the TRX-2e EZ scan software.

You should be using the downloads from here

Hi, thanks for the info, I didn't know the EZ Scan software was country specific.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks you.

Hi, I have now loaded EZ scan from the international site, it's only 9Mb, which i presume is without the Library.
Still the same problem, it doesn't recognize the CPU firmware version.
If I ignore this and try to update the firmware I get :-
Entering update mode (waiting for scanner )
Unable to confirm scanner has entered update mode.
Update failed.
I can still read the configs, and write new configs, to and from the scanner so I think
I'll just run with the present CPU firmware and continue to enjoy the TRx-2e as it is.
Thanks for your help.

I've had issues with CPU and DSP upgrades in the past, but for some reason not lately. I then had to use the stand alone program for upgrades that Whistler has on the page for their TRX scanners. That always worked to do upgrades.

Hi Ubbe, thanks for the reply.
Do you mean run the CPUUpdater_TRX2e_U7.4.exe on it's own ?

Turn the scanner off. Once you have downloaded the CPUUpdater, connect your scanner to your computer and run the updater. If the scanner is not recognized, try holding the MENU button while you plug in the cable.

You guys are brilliant, thank you. After faffing about getting Win 11 to use an unused com port to service the USB drive, CPUpdater has done it's job. EZ Scan is now showing CPU firmware at 7.4 and DSP at 3.2.
Thanks to Ubbe and tvengr for your valued knowledge.
Great community in this Whistler forum.
Thanks you both very much.
Cheers

:) Although I do not own a TRX-2 scanner, I am super glad there are ppl who care enough about the membership to guide (and glide) some to get the results needed (in most cases). I have had the PLEASURE of receiving some of this help, and can appreciate the awesome help given regardless of the individual challenges given some. I HUGE Thank You to those who love the (insert word, because it is lost to me, again), you are a patient and caring group of people. :)

I would think that you read the TRX-2 using EZ-Scan, switch off the scanner and replace the SD card with a new one and power on. Then in EZ-Scan you select Scanner/SD Card at the top and select prepare SD card for use. After that you write your configuration to the SD card and it will be the same as the one you took out. I think it will ask what virtual scanner folders it should copy so select all of them.

You can also file copy the SD card in Windows, mark all folders using File Explorer and copy to a new folder on your PC. Then with another SD card you mark the folders inside that new folder on the PC and copy to the new SD card. You should probably do this with SD cards in a SD Card reader directly connected to your PC as the USB/SD card interface in the TRX-2 are very slow using a low data rate.
