I think the file permission error has to do with Vista user account permissions. You're probably logged on as a user that doesn't have permission to modify files in the root c:\ directory. Try specifying a different location to store the file that you have access to. The audio issue may be related. If you're trying to store the audio files in a directory that you don't have write permissions to, it could cause issues. You could try moving the whole program directory to somewhere that you know you have read/write permissions (like My Documents or the Desktop) and see if it works.

aaknitt,

I got the permissions error corrected, I DLed the program to the desktop and it works fine with no errors except still not getting audio with my pages. I'm getting a page that says "page received" but no audio with the file. Can you walk me through how to possibly fix this? Like I stated before I have used this program with no problems on an XP machine. Thanks for the help again!!

What directory are you storing the audio files in (this is specified on the control panel of the program). If you go to that directory, are there recorded audio files there? Also make sure your record time settings are correct...when a tone is detected, does it try to record audio for the correct duration?

I think that would be a great feature. Similar to the tone out search features of the newer Uniden trunking scanners.

Any possible way to get the found tones and time/date stamp saved to CSV format to use with a spreadsheet?

I don't think this would be very useful, since it would be logging whenever any traffic is present on the channel, regardless of whether it's actually a paging tone or not. All the program does is display the most prominent frequency in the signal...it doesn't discern whether it's actually a paging tone or not. The program is designed to trigger on tone sets you already know. It's not really designed for discovering new tones, although it can sort of be used for that. For discovering new tone sets, the easiest way to do it is record them and then analyze after recording.

Outstanding piece of software and unbelievable support! I stumbled on this forum and thread. I reviewed all of the inputs and followed the evolution of this product. I downloaded it and it was up and running in very few minutes, the hardest part is setting up the phone alerts, my phone doesn't support MP3 so I had to back track to WAV files but all is good now!

Thanks for the great product and all of the people who have helped improve it along the way!

When I first downloaded this program, it worked as advertised right out of the box (well, right from the download). After a few days, I found that the program froze and also froze other programs running on the computer. A reboot usually solved the problem for a few more days.

I recently downloaded the latest version and installed on a different computer and the program does not seem to work at all and also freezes after a day or two.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for the great program! I am having a issue I can't seem to figure out. After the tone is detected by the program records for about 1 second then cuts out. It doesn't do this all the time. I have the record time set to 45 seconds and the delay set to 0. I have also tried the Audio Threshold in about every position. Any Ideas?

Thanks!

I know that this thread is fairly stale now, but I've got to say that this is a great program. I can't get strong enough signal to receive dispatches while I am at work, but this helps fill the gap.

However, I had issues getting this configured. I finally tried using a gmail account and got it to work. But, if I entered more than one e-mail address in the "Two-Tone E-mails" column, then I wouldn't receive any e-mails at all. I worked around the issue by creating a rule to send the e-mail to multiple addresses.

Thanks again for this great program.

Did you separate the address with commas and no spaces after the comma? Other than that there should be no problems. The G-mail is a good way to go too... I have used G-mail to send to my phone, for some reason if I send directly to my phone the attachment gets corrupted.

When sending directly to my phone through G-mail's mail server or another server the attachment was corrupt, if I send to my G-mail account and then have G-mail forward it to the phone all is well and the audio attachment is good. It must be something with the LG Rumor phone and not the program.

Good Luck,
Rich

amazing program

amazing program.. love it.. BUT i'm finding a small issue.. local Firedepartment, there Long tone dispatch... 876.2 is the tone they use. however it is not long enough to trip the program.. it appears the long tone page lasts about 4 to 6 seconds tops.. by the time the program gets to the long tone check, the tone is done.

The Motorola long tone format calls for 8 seconds, but most pagers will start to alert after 5 seconds. Still, it's odd they're not conforming to the standard, especially if they're using a mainstream encoder.

Anyways, one workaround is to put an A-B tone set of 876.2-876.2, although if there are other agencies that use the 876.2 tone, it will probably trip for them as well. Play around with it and see what happens, you may get lucky and it may work out for you.

It looks like that fixed it... I had a space after each comma. I tried to read through all these pages to see if I had missed something (which I obviously did), but there was SO much information here that I must have missed it.

Thanks for the help,
Chris

I think..

I think the chillicothe fire dept. 'Long Tone' is not so much a pager tone as it is an attention tone.. because it is only 3 seconds long.

I am having a similar issue, when on the internet, pages freeze for a few seconds then respond(like on this sight if you are using the scroll wheel). have to exit twotone to stop this from happening. Don
