Grrrr still can't get it to work, i was able to load a generic Raspberry OS on it and got it to boot, It looks like it unzips Jim's image, but it does it with that Error, i think that is my problem.

Don't waste your time on my image. I tried it myself last night and found at least three errors. Follow Andy's instructions and make one from scratch. The python daemon i discussed previously was the cause of my pi crashes. So ignore that one also.See if you can grab it here:

Username and password are the same as your Pi was shipped with. I have stripped out my email username and password from config.cfg and have stripped out my Tones.cfg info. It is also set for a static IP address to facilitate using SSH. Use ifconfig to determine the address. Send me a PM if you need any help.
I have found my pi to be very sensitive to power supply problems. I am finding it difficult to maintain something above 4.8 volts across TP1-TP2. Most stable appears thus far to be an Apple iPad charger that gets me 4.9 volts.
Good luck
Jim
I am not so patiently waiting for my Raspberry to arrive so I can join in here.
My room is being heated by the PC running TTD and summer is approaching. I am looking forward to using the Raspberry to lower the power consumption from the P4 beast I have to use now.
Seriously I want to contribute to this process and see the PI effort pay off for those interested in it!
DC31 and Andy, keep up the good work!
Andy,
Most of my experimentation with ths feature has been trial and error (mostly the latter). I think i now have the settings correct. When a tone set is detected, the audio comes out of the speakers! Otherwise, they are quiet. So i am watching the program run as i am eating breakfast. The playback stops at the point where "waiting for silence" appears on the screen, even though the dspatch audio continues well past that point and is included in the recording attached to the email.
Otherwise, i have gotten the crashing problem fixed by going to wired ethernet rather than wireless and it has been completely stable for a few days now.
Jim
Hey Jim, When you get yours to work good, can i mail you an SD card so you can load the image on to it for me. I am getting to the point of "Flying Pi" as i am at the verge of chucking this thing out the window! LOL
Mike
Success today! Very encouraged!!
PI generated good emails from appropriate tones with sound quality that is better than the old P4 on v57. One day does not prove reliability but it is a start. I also used the variable length recording features of v60 with success. Currently all my squad tones are being duplicated by the PI to only my email.
Andy would you consider a heartbeat subroutine that we could use to flash a user supplied LED/resistor on the PI? I want to end up with a headless setup but knowing the program itself is still running is crucial.
I need to implement auto start and make sure the sound works before I consider removing the 'head'. Implementing the remote config file feature makes sense but SSH can satisfy that issue for now.
FYI I found a nice (paid) tone App for the iPhone that can make tone sequences and record / save them. Tone Generator Pro Michael Heinz with in store upgrade for file saving. I was able to drop box transfer the files around easily and play them on the iPhone and desktop (after changing the extension to mp3)
