According to the RR database, TxWARN has a site in Cedar Park, TX, which is a couple of miles away from my SDS200 physical location. However, when I activate the favorite list that includes all TxWARN departments/channels and the Cedar Park site, I don't receive any activity. My scanner is running the latest firmware and database, and the favorite list was created and uploaded using Sentinel.

I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions as to why I am not seeing any system activities from this particular site.

Some of the posters in this forum can give you great detail on why that site is there, so I’ll leave that to them. However there are no agencies based in the Austin area that use TxWARN and it’s generally only used for interoperability and travel from agencies that are on it. So…..if a radio isn’t affiliated to it that is monitoring any talk groups, you won’t hear anything at all.

I haven't tried to monitor it in the last several years, but when I did the only hear a DPS talkgroup and most traffic was out of the Houston area.

Thanks, make sense. It was too good to be true - listen Houston area traffic from convenience of Cedar Park location :)

IIRC that site was located at the old TxDOT office in Cedar Park (which has now been demolished). Probably TxDOT owned hardware so it could theoretically pop up at some point either back on TxWARN or on GATRRS since TxDOT and DPS has co-op'd with other local agencies to expand GATRRS over the years.
