In our database we list the University of Akron trunked system. However, new/modified licenses have been issued with different emission designators as well as five additional channels [for a total of 15 channels].

The system is here: University of Akron Trunking System, Akron, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies

We received a submission that:

1. stated that this system as it is listed in the RRDB will not track
2. provided a link to this: Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety - Radio

Is there anybody around Akron who has figured out whether this system is a Passport system? If so, what the LCNs are. Also, has anybody verified other licensed frequencies in operation on this system besides the 10 listed in the RRDB?

Here are the licensed frequencies: FCC Callsign WPRU679 Details

The frequencies used by the trunked system repeaters would be the 423/424 mhz frequencies.

If anybody has updated and verified information regarding this system, please submit the updates to the Radioreference Database by clicking on the Submit button on this page: University of Akron Trunking System, Akron, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies .

Also, if there are people actively trying to figure out the current architecture of this system, please do post here your findings so that others doing the same thing may benefit.

Thanks

Mike

It says Trident Micro Systems NTS/PassPort® on the webpage, I would believe them. I think it means that they are sure most people can't monitor it.
This means current scanner will not track it. I tried a quick search and get static, but I believe I am too far away to receive it.

I am still looking for some good monitoring spots so maybe I'll try from one of them.

With that type of radio, they are either being used on MARCS or Summit county systems.

The PD on the Summit system is active, UAPD 1, don't know about the rest yet.

I'll revisit this thread again.

423.1625 (as of my monitoring this morning) is an NEXEDGE48 control channel)

Network: 83
Site: 1
RAN: 1

License: WPRU679
-- Lists a ton of NEXEDGE emissions designators.

Now, some of the frequencies may still be active for LTR purposes, but there definitely is an NEXEDGE48 trunked system actively deployed there.

Those of you who know anything about monitoring digital signals with DSDPlus might want to consider checking out all of the frequencies on the license.

I think there is some way for NXDN / LTR systems to be run in some mode where it's a dual function analog LTR / digital NXDN system -- I thought I heard others talking of that before. I guess that's the upgrade path for LTR systems.

Anyway, don't be surprised if the LTR system in the DB doesn't properly track 100%, because one or more frequencies listed on the LTR system may now be NXDN digital only channels.
