• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I hit a wall with plugging in certain frequencies into my XTS5000 7/800 mhz radio. I am confused because on one radio, I can add certain frequencies that I can't on 2 other XTS5000s. Yes, they are both 7/800 mhz radios by confirming Model H18UCH9PW7AN. Flashport does seem to be different. The one I can add the frequencies on is 5400080000025 and the two that can't accept the frequencies are 5400080004824 and 5000080004828. To further explain, on the 1st radio, I set it up to Digital CSQ which has been picking up everything including Phase 2 voice (unless its only keying up when its FDMA and not TDMA). The other two radios won't accept the frequencies for RWC Phoenix Fire Regional Wireless Cooperative (RWC) Site: Simulcast B: Phoenix Fire and Public Works.

Let me know if anyone has any insight on why I can on one radio, but not the other two radios.

Thanks! (If you help and no thanks if you just comment irrelevant info).

XTS-5000 won't do phase 2. If you are getting it, it must be simulcast to phase1.
Usually adding freqencies is moot as long as they are on the same system.
Scan list only have a 10 member limit and has to be linked to a trunking personality,
If your invalid fields show trunking system 1, your frequencies may not jive with the right offset.
Lemme look over your site and see if anything is ammis.

Do the other two radios have compatible features ?

Was probably locked down by an Advanced System Key (ASK) at some point in its lifetime by the System Manager.
I guess I should have made it clear that I can add other frequencies to the 2 other XTS but not the same as the first one. Thanks!

Thanks. I learned that and am not trying to NAS with trunking set up. Instead, I am setting it up as a scanner just to scan the frequencies by setting it up as Conventional personality. In other words, I am plugging the RWC simulcast frequencies per personality and making it scan. The problem is, It won't let me save the frequencies. Screenshot attached.

Sounds to me like setting the TX deviation to 2.5 kHz may fix it. I could be wrong.
Thanks but it's set up as RX only so I am not sure if it would make a difference when receiving only. I tried setting it up first without making it "receive only" but still didn't make a difference.

None of this matters because your client who owns one of those XTSs has now come to me for the proper programming of NAS for the RWC and TRWC systems
Not sure how that works since you can't program Phase 2 on XTS radios since it's only Phase 1. I did set up the radio to NAS but doesn't pick anything up since it only works with FDMA and TDMA but thanks for trying to make me feel bad. Didn't work, bro! (y)

Make sure the frequencies are set to 2.5kHz deviation.

The system isn’t P2 bub, still P1
Whoever submitted that it’s P2 is completely wrong as a buddy of mine in the area can still pickup both systems with his XTS
So again, don’t worry about it anymore especially since you’re not even understanding how to setup the radio for conventional scan anyways
And if you think the way your setting it up is NAS, you’re totally wrong bubba
Deviation has to be setup to 2.5 for the record
