Unication G5 question

Hi guys. I have the unication g5 vhf 800 pager. Theres 1 problem with it though. Does anyone know why it would be recording random voice transmissions on the vhf freqs i monitor? Even if it's not a 2 tone voice call. And sometimes itll do this on selective call at random times. Any ideas would be great im in Racine city

Open up the PPS software and uncheck the box for that.

Check the Group ID tab. Deselect the option for voice recording.

I still need the voice recording though for the 2 tone calls
I'm new to Unication, but I would try disabling Voice Storage on the group ID, but enable Voice Storage on the knob position. I am interested in this as well, but haven't been able to sit down and try this out.

Please let us know if it works. It's a guess on my part at this point.

Sure thing. I have to wait for it to do it now. Idk when itll randomly record unwanted messages. Right now the knob is disabled

Ok so i told dispatch to do a test of my pager 2 tones a few mins and it didnt store the voice message which like i said, i need it to for the calls. So i re-checked it. So it works not recording anything for the knob i was on but i need to record the 2 tone voice calls for my dept.

I was hoping that would have worked. I'll see if I can work something out on my end, but the tones in the database have not been tested by me, so it may be some time.

Sorry to jump on this thread but I am interstestd in your sds 200 in the classifieds…. but no way contact because of your privacy settings.

I'm looking around, and I thought this would work. On the Group ID tab, you should Voice Storage de-selected for all but the group you're interested in. That one should have the tones defined as well as Voice Storage selected.

On the knob setting, Protocol Type should be "2-Tone". At the bottom, select Enable on the group from above.

I think that might work.

It's all selected correctly. I had my dealer look at it and theres nothing i can do for that issue. When it does it, just delete the message. Not much help but for now, it's all we can do. He will tell Unication on Monday when they open again

Sorry I couldn't be of help. Let us know what the fix is, if they come up with something. This seems like something that should be straightforward.
