Do you have the new scanner firmware yet?I have a file for Baltimore City and County and I'm happy to share it with you. All you have to do is import the file into the Unication PPS software and program the pager. You'll be good to go!

Not yet. I just checked and it's not on the unicationusa website.Do you have the new scanner firmware yet?
You will be able to hold on a talkgroup and also have scan delay.i dont think i need or want the new scanner firmware, my G4 works great as it is
That would be very much appreciated. At the very least I could look at the file and get a useful look at how Unication programming is done. Do you think the VHF reception is equivalent to a BCT-15X for listening to marine using its own antenna or would it be better to just save money and get a G4?I have a file for Baltimore City and County and I'm happy to share it with you. Thank you for your advice and assistance. All of your public safety systems in the Baltimore metro area are 700/800 MHz. I would go with the G4 and use the BCT15X for VHF. You should go ahead and download the PPS software. The link is on my post #9. Here is the file for your pager. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Import the extracted file into your PPS and program your pager.
I haven't tried VHF with my G5. I've been using it strictly for public safety. I know you have been around for a while and have a lot of experience. Any input is appreciated. Not to muddy the waters, but I have a few Marine and USCG VHF channels is my G5. The base / control station booms, so no problem hearing that side of the conversation, but remember that they are not repeated. I'm not sure where the USCG antennas are besides Curtis Bay and the Bay Bridge.
I only use the VHF channels for PS related uses as well. The marine channels I monitor are the ones used for water rescues. The USCG VHF channels are part time encrypted; and most of the time they are ENC. But the reason why I purchased the G5vhf is because Anne Arundel and other jurisdictions I monitor use VHF for FTO and backup to their TRS. Not sure what's going to happen in AACo once the new system is installed. But if the OP already has a decent VHF analog scanner and doesn't need the USCG VHF (which is P25,) then the G4 should be adequate.I haven't tried VHF with my G5. That’s what I kind of figured and the G5 cannot decode SmartZone. At least I might luck out and hear dispatch. I heard rumors they’re switching to P25 one day. (Rumors meaning I thought I saw threads in the forum about it... but seems like it’s a ways off).In my experience, (20 years listening in Sussex) all the Sussex county fire, fireground/OPS/comms are on the statewide system. The only thing I've heard on 453mhz is dispatch and tones.

460.6 with 136.5 PL.Harford County also uses the 400-470 band as I understand.
Allegedly, Delaware is accelerating it conversion schedule to Astro P25. Since they are not planning to build any new tower sites, it's almost certainly going to be Phase. The intelli-repeater sites in the north are going to be converted to either ASRs or simulcast sites. Still a couple years away. That’s what I kind of figured and the G5 cannot decode SmartZone. G4 is awesome...you will love itIn case anyone is curious, I decided to order a G4 and amplified base from Ray's. Haven't received it yet because base was out of stock with shipment due to arrive tomorrow.
