Uniden 785d digital scanner

Hello All: I am in need of some info about a uniden 785D scanner with the digital card installed. I am trying to program this scanner to hear the state police on their apco 25 system. I have not been able to hear anything with the digital part of this scanner for some reason. I have the digital card installed and it is enabled in the menu of the scanner. I am pretty sure that I have the scanner programmed correct. My question is, why can't I hear the state police digital system with is scanner if it is programmed correct? Is it because they use 9600 baud and the uniden 785D will not do 9600 baud rate? Any advise on this matter would be appreciated very much.

you are correct, the 785 only does a 3600 baud control channel. So, you won't be able to use it to trunk track the Starcom system. You should be able to listen to the system though, you will just have to program the voice frequencies in as conventional channels rather than trunked. Do not program any of the control or alt. control channels in. You won't get the benefits of being able to lockout encrypted talkgroups or the dog catcher but at least you will hear some traffic.

Also, I haven't tried the 785 with a system that uses 700mhz, so I don't know if it will even let you program those in.

Actually program these CC + Alt's then lockout the current active CC. Alt's are used as VC when not used for CC.
