I'm wondering if it will be a single program that will allow users to program numerous radios like the 396XT and the 996XT. I don’t see why there is such silence about it being delayed. I’m still surprised they released the scanner without the software to program it. I hope we don’t have to wait for the 996XT is released.
There is no "silence" -- it's just delayed. You don't post daily updates to say "it is still delayed."
With free software for the 396XT currently available and working well, what's the big hangup with Uniden's software being delayed? Personally I'm happy Uniden is concentrating on hardware.

Why do you imply that some of our questions don’t make common sense? Isn’t the purpose of the forum to ask question and provide information? I made a simple comment. It might not be important to some but it might be to others. As far as the hardware and software go, yes you can use a lot of hardware without the software or a third party program but many of us like the UASD software. Software usage is a personal preference.
With FreeScan you can not log hits or nac's, if it wasnt for that i wouldnt worry about uniden software. O well maybe by the time the 996xt comes out it will be done.
All kinds of unforeseen complications when one buys their radios it would seem.
well its June now any update to when the UASD might make it out.

What software? The 235 wasn't computer programmable and the only software I found for the 245 was written by a scanner hobbyist up in Montreal.

Yeah, when? UPMan said UASD for the '396XT was "delayed" back in mid May. It's now nearly July. Radios shipped in March. Four months is a long, long time.
When I bought my '396T in 2005, the software was delayed, too, but the delay was measured in days, not months.

I think Uniden should dump the USAD software concentrate on the hardware (my opinion only).
Id rather pay $15 less for the 396XT (just an example based on other prices) and use FREESCAN
Or maybe Uniden can partner with FREESCAN and include that software with the radio for free.. why have Uniden spend all that time developing software if they can partner with someone else
Or even partner with Butel.. tell Butel we will give you $15/scanner for a basic version (users can pay Butel to upgrade to the PRO version so Butel can make even more money).
Butel might agree due to the amount of scanners sold it adds up big $$$, and Uniden doesnt have to develop or spend time on any software.

Became a payed to RR and downloaded Scanware, logged on and having problems downloading. Copy the freq. but can't do the next step.Do I need do something with the scanner its self...yes I plugged it in lol.

Hmm. I've never heard of Scanware.
You'd probably get a (better) answer if you posted in the Software Support forum and included more details, including what the "next step" is and why you cannot do it (error message?).
