Uniden BCD 396XT Programming Software

Try a Radio Shack Gigaware serial --> USB adapter. I can confirm that it will work with the Uniden 396XT (as I use one myself). This also works well for every other radio cable that I need to adapt, including two ways. Beware of many of the others (especially the cheap ones like on Ebay), as many simply will not do what you need it to do for radios. Been there, done that; trial and error style.

I can't get free scan to recognize my Prolific adapter. ARC-XT works just fine, if I'm in XP Mode on my HP DV6-2150US. In Windows 7, I can't read my scanner, but I can send to it just fine. I just don't want to load up xp mode every time. Thoughts?
