Yea, Montgomery County is notorious for monitoring on Uniden scanners. It's just OK on my 396T, and awful on my 436.

You should change the manual setting for the P25 Threshold.
See for example http://forums.radioreference.com/2121020-post257.html
and other posts around page 14 of that thread.
The 436/536 comes set with the P25 Threshold fixed at 8, rather than adaptive as with the 396T.
I set mine to 12 for Montgomery County and there is a big improvement.

I'll give that a trying next time I'm in Montgomery County. The county has begun soliciting proposals for a new radio system to replace its current infrastructure, which reached manufacturer "end-of-life" in 2009. The new system should be Phase 1 and Phase 2 compliant, and should leverage state infrastructure whenever possible. A new FSA system is also happening, along with other back-of-the-house applications (CAD, records management, text-to-911, etc.,) so it's going to be big. A lot of heavy hitters are lining up to bid on the project. They also want to tightly integrate their VHF assets into the system, which I thought was interesting...
