Hello I notice Radio Ref has stuff I need updating but when i go to the SDS100 software and click the to update the database and it say's I already have current and there is stuff on the radio Ref database i need updated into my radio but it won't let me get the latest so how will I be able to get the latest database into my radio if the software say's I have the current and that isn't correct because there is stuff on there they recently added to the library but I am un able to get latest so I am not sure what else to do I am so frustrated.

Are you sure you are choosing the correct update? Or are you choosing the Firmware update? Choose Update Master Database. It’s got a new update ready for download every week on Monday.

The database update is a two step process.... first you update the database in the Sentinel Software on your computer, then you need to write from Sentinel to the scanner to transfer the updates into your scanner. Look at the top of page 11 in your owner's manual for step by step instructions for updating the database.

If Sentinel says that the database is up to date when you click on "Update", then "Update Database", Sentinel already has the latest database, BUT you still need to "Write" it to the scanner.

Note: If you are scanning favorites lists that you have created, those are NOT automatically updated with the database update process... you need to update those manually.

What month is it?
If the entry is green (fresh update) or yellow, (recent update), it takes a bit....

The database is updated every Monday (normally) so it may take a week for it to show up in the Uniden load.

FYI The database update process only updates the Master database on your SDS100. It does not update any data in your favorite lists. Favorite lists have to be updated manually.

Good Luck!

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to add a new talk group that you see highlighted in green or yellow?

I recently did a database update on the 13th but today I realized CNYICC had a county but even if I won't get it I still like to have it updates into my radio so it's with the system but I can void it but have it there with the rest of it when I go to them county's by car I'll be able to enable them to hear them but when today I tried to update data base it says I have current so I do have to wait to Monday sense I already did it and didn't realize it had that update so that is why but as I tried it would not let me as I have done it before the week and now I can't to when it shows I can

Are you scanning the master database, or are you scanning a favorites list that you have created? As mentioned above, please explain clearly what you are trying to do.

Unless he recently changed something, Jason is scanning two favorites lists; CNYICC - Oneida County, and Herkimer County (analog).

Use the favorites list editor in Sentinel and add the "stuff" to your favorites list. You don't have to wait for a new Sentinel update to do that.... just open up the favorites list editor and copy and paste the updated items into your existing favorites list right from the RR database that already has the updates.

Okay I always can give it a try if I don't end up doing it wrong but always can give it a try and see what happens

If you are updating an existing Favorites List to add a handful or less Talkgroups and/or sites, you might be better off doing it manually. If your Favorites List is "customized", updating it by appending from the full database, even if it is the most current one, could present a problem.

That problem is more "stuff" might be added to the Favorites List than you desire. So you end up spending 20 minutes deleting the "stuff" you don't want, where you could have spent 10 minutes doing a "hand" update.

Well I don't understand how to do it I tried and it didn't work so I will have to wait to Monday cause doing it manually is to hard as I just got the radio not long a go so the data base way should be easier all i do is wait for data base update it then go delete all the CNYICC system out and go into where it is sense it be a updated one then just redo the favorites list with the updated one and then just hook radio up and go to click force database and write it to the radio done it's much easier then doing it manually

I have no idea how to even do this I tried and I don't understand how to :( so I am pretty much screwed over

ok all I figured out how to get that CNYICC updated manually it took some playing around with it but I figured it out with out given up I just kept tweaking around the editor till I figure out where to go to edit in the new Broome and the site frequency's and the DEC for TGID so it's all set and updated. This is just a learning curve but I just want to thank you all for the patients and I know it's all new to me but I do thank each and every one of you for the help and I know I can get frustrated at time's trying to figure thing's out as I learn at a slow paste but how ever I manage to do it and hoping I Had not said anything dumb but it can happen but I never give up till I learn something new and am very glad I had great people
to help and was patient with me so thanks again:)
