Hello everyone, well I have been reading this forum for a week now in prep for my 246T, I it recieved today. my problem is I have gone to the uniden website to download there demo software and cannot find the download, they talk about it but no download. I am an old scanner buff from way back but the last time I bought a scanner it was a R4030 which I still have, at this point after listening to everone I am NEWBY. hope you guys can help.

That is a matter of opinion best left to TheGator to decide.
It's a demo. If it had full function why would anyone buy the key?

Thank you pr92b I did find it and tried it, thought i was setting up the scanner and ended up erasing all data on the scanner. I did fig out how to program conventional frequencies, I have a lot to learn before i get to trunking. thank you for the reply and download.
I have the software for the 246t purchased the key have a Pro 95 also with the win 95 program. I have to say uniden software wins hands down the only thing you cannot do that win 95 can is unlock the Mil air frequencies which the Pro 95 cannot pick up worth anything anyway. The uniden software has some great features espically when programming in trunk systems. Also uniden is easier to change systems loaded in the scanner than Win 95. I think its well worth the price for the key.

they will send you a email with a key code and a link once you enter it it unlocks the software it was $29.95. Well worth the money for the time you will save when it comes to programming and making changes.

Well fireant, i have to tell you i am having a tough time trying to get freqs programed into the scanner with the uniden software, new group, new name new this new that, driving me crazy, maby you can shed a little light on this to make this a little easier for me, maby i am trying to hard. ther has to be a better way.

It's a result of the new memory management scheme. You have to first create a system and group before you can program the channels. Once you've created the system and group, it's just like any other scanner.
What area are you in? Maybe someone already has a file for your area. Of course, if you're using the demo, you will need to combine the systems into one for each type.

Hi Voyager, My area is martin county Florida, I have all the freq for my area, most of them are digital but i do have some analog num i could put them in to. I am running demo mode in uniden software and went to there website to buy it and cannot find where i could buy it. if someone knows and please give me the link it would sure help. i believe part of my problem are the restrictions in demo mode, dont know what they are so i cant tell for sure.
