UnidenCommander for (U)BC785XLT

Hi all,

I have created a little piece of software, mainly for my own use, that I would like to share with you. It's called UnidenCommander, and it allows you to remote control your UBC785XLT from your PC. Not a unique piece of software I know. But I did add some handy features like being able to select modulation (AM, FM, etc) and frequency step size (5k, 12.5k, etc) without having to set them in menu.

Anyway, have a look if you're interested and let me know what you think of it!

Update

I have posted an updated version of UnidenCommander on my website, http://dx.torensma.net , everyone is invited to have a look :)

This update brings support for the ubc780 and ubc250 scanners. The user interface has undergone some work also.

Regards, Elmer

Looks very interesting. Do you have plans to allow for programming the radio. I found out Vista is not compatible with ARC780 and would love to have something else to program the 780 and 796 with. There is great freeware when it comes to Uniden DMA scanners (BCtool and FreeSCAN) but lack software for the older Uniden trunk trackers. Keep up the great work and I will be following this project with great interest.

brandon, Proscan handles both the 780 and 796, and unlike ARC780, has the RR import feature. I agree that we could use a freeware program that can do the things that FreeScan and BCTool can for the non-DMA scanners. Maybe this will address this need someday....73 Mike

Brandon, I don't have any real plans to add programming functions to UnidenCommander, at this point in time. But this might change if there is enough demand.

My first new feature will be a band-scope function (spectrum analyser). Any feature requests are ofcourse welcome :)
