United Kingdom FD's

Many FD's in the UK are still on 70 - 80 mhz am channels when conditions improve can we hear skip from across the pond
Has any one ever hear Great Briton skip that hi in freq on the east coast
whenwould be the best time of day given the 5 hour +/- difference
