The Federal Reseve Banks are in multiple states and the decisions they make affect the whole country. Fed Ex is a private company and no one would confuse them as being part of the Federal Government. Here is a quote from an official publication of the Federal Reserve Bank "The Federal Reserve System: Purposes and Functions."

The Federal Reserve System is the central bank of the United
States. It was founded by Congress in 1913 to provide the
nation with a safer, more flexible, and more stable monetary
and financial system. Over the years, its role in banking and
the economy has expanded.

That is what makes it a Federal agency and it is why they use frequencies allocated for use by the Federal Government.

I would actually question the statement about stable money considering the devalued dollar!

Federal Reserve

Actually it isn't a Federal Agency it is a private institution but federally protected.

The Federal Reserve is a Private Financial Institution

Just FYI...this might be in the wrong forum as the Federal Reserve Bank is about as federal as Federal Express.

This is something which is frequently found on conspiracy theory sites (as well as the fraudulent and easily-debunkable documentary America: Freedom to Fascism) and isn't entirely accurate.

There are actually three Federal Reserves:

1. The Federal Reserve Board of Governors, a federal agency, which owns and enforces the decisions of
2. The Federal Reserve System, a private banking/currency monopoly, consisting of a set of Federal Reserve Banks (the letter in the circle on your dollar bill). All banks in the country must be a shareholder of a Federal Reserve Bank.
3. The Federal Open Market Committee, which contains members from both above, and sets "the interest rate". This is actually the "interest rate" charged to the shareholder banks, which operates as a floor for the interest rates you get from your local branch.

When the President and Congress appoint the chairperson (currently Ben Bernanke), he is the chairman of the Board of Governors, which is a federal agency. The Federal Reserve Banks are a privately-owned system.

Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago

I see the 7th District- Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago states tone of Mototrbo with a RX-406.6625 and the TX-415.6625. Do you believe that they switched to this or could they still be on analog. If it could still be heard on analog what is the PL-tone?

It's been reported for quite sometime (atleast 2009) that FRB Chicago went TRBO
Federal Reserve Bank System - The RadioReference Wiki
Maintenance could still be Analog, altho I would be surprised as the Maint and PD do work hand-in-hand and need to talk on each others channels (based on Boston monitoring)

Other FRB Offices have as well, while other remain Analog and some other P25
