I have Unitrunker working on two Motorola Type Systems, however, I am getting a very low decoding rate for a Edacs96 Type System. I am able to see and hear the groups talking to each other on Unitrunker, but it cuts off after a second or less. Unitrunker is unable to decode properly. The Site is locked on the Receiver folder and it is logging the Edacs System as it is attempting to decode it, but is unable to hold on to a specific Target Id. The priority on the listen groups is the defaut 50. I was having the same problem as others using Unitrunker creating Limbo systems, but the Site locked/Logging Enable seems to have worked for me, but occassionaly get the Limbo systems. How can I improve the decoding rate, I am assuming that the decoding rate might be the problem. I have also adjusted the squelch on the signal receiver and has not made a difference. I have messed with the sound card Recording Device and the signal becomes distorted after I raised the slider level. Most importantly, there is no improvement in the decoding rate. I am still learning how to use Unitrunker.

Any suggestions.

Thanks, TJ.

Squelch has no effect on discriminator audio.

The limbo site problem may be less of an issue if the program can verify the control channel frequency. An Inline or Both receiver in Signal role generally takes care of this.

A better signal with reduce the frequency of Adhoc windows popups. These happen when contradictory data is received. It is difficult to distinguish signal loss (or signal change) from a brief burst of noise. The former causes data pollution. The latter causes bouncing site windows. The program tries to protect you from both.

For better signal - try attenuate (a counter intuitive fix that sometimes works), receiver placement, move RF noisy equipment away, antenna ground, outdoor antenna. Is target site far away?

Unitrunker, I will try to work on the signal strength by working to reduce noise or attenuate the source of the inteference and increase the decibels from the antenna to the receiver. I do not know exactly the antenna locaton of the target site to the receiver. I did notice that the control channe signal was kind of weak and breaking out as Unitrunker was trying to decode the signal.

Thanks for the suggestion. TJ
