I'm trying to track Progress Energy (Motorola Type 2) in New Bern NC

Every time I set up the signal, set Park at 938.9875 (current Control Channel) I can then hear the Control Channel, and I hit mute and it starts grabbing channels.

In the Signal Receiver VCO area under "Listen" it sets the frequency initially at 938.9875 then in a second or two the frequency changes to 858.96250

3 channels populate in the 858 range but the published channels should of course be near 938 MHz.

I get joins but only static when a call comes in. I can't help but think this thing is pulling in the wrong data.

Any and all help appreciated.

I might have gotten it. the 858 MHz stuff is another P25 system near here. I deleted all the SDR's and started the Signal device with only Motorola selected. It pulled in another channel in the 939 MHz range. So far I have a "Join" but no calls yet so I don't know if audio is working or not.

Nope, no matter what I do it pulls in the 858 MHz stuff. Bandplan is full of 858 MHz stuff as well. How do I get the LCN for this system?

Is this Version 1 or Version 2? If Version 2 the author of the program requests all discussions be held on the Google Groups list not on RR.

It was version 1. Didn't even know there was a version 2. Downloaded it and playing with it now. Still curious how to find the proper LCN for this system

Here's what I've done in the interim. I have it set up and I have a zillion "Joins" but no calls. I have an SDS200 Uniden scanner and I set it up so Progress Energy is the only Scan List I'm monitoring. Soon as a call comes in, I'll know whether Unitrunker is working or not. Frequencies seem off to me but it wouldn't be the first time someone changed their system and it didn't make it to the RR database.

Heck, New Bern Public Safety and VIPER were WAY DIFFERENT for about a year before the list caught up and there are still active TalkGroups not published in RR.

In v1, go to the Band Plan tab of the Site window, click on the calculator icon (Wizard), click on the 935 button, close that window. You should now see only one band plan entry with a base of 935.0125. Click on the lightning bolt icon (Apply), and it should change all the 800 frequencies to 900 to match the actual site. I would also recommend pressing the 'sheet of paper' icon (Push to all sites) on the Band Plan tab to update the frequencies of neighboring sites.

The procedure is basically the same in v2, but some of the icons look a little different on the Band Plan tab. Hover over them and you'll see which each one is.

Version 2 is used with SDR dongles and continues to be in beta despite numerous versions and excellent performance.

Hopefully the suggestions @GTR8000 worked for you.

Everything you said worked as advertised. I've yet to get any calls on the system but still getting joins. Also there is no activity on my SDS200 set with a 25 mile range which is about the coverage area. Could just be this is a super quiet system in this town.

But all those 800 MHz range channels did go poof and one of the 939 MHz channels popped up. Still in Version 2 at the moment.

Thanks.

I finally got it!

Version 2 when getting a call would say "Grant" with no voice.

Uninstalled and did Version 1 and within minutes I started receiving voice calls! Finally working. It's not that I want to listen to Progress Energy as much as I just wanted to decode the Motorola system. DSD+ wouldn't do it
