Unitrunker Release 26 is now available. Look for version 1.0.26.10.

http://www.unitrunker.com/download/

The list of fixes and enhancements is quite long. Here are some highlights.

MPT1327

The data model for MPT1327 has changed. Previously, the program placed each site in its own system. You had to hand-edit the XML to link these different systems together using a mechanism referred to as delegation. The new model groups related sites under one system. If the program discovers that two networked systems are actually part of the same network, it automatically combines them.

Delegation

The program has long supported delegation for Motorola Omnilink systems. However, operation was less than automatic and there was no way to manually intervene. The program now supports both automatic delegation and also manual delegation. You can manually link two systems. All talkgroups and radio IDs are pooled under one system. Each system manages its own list of sites.

Delegate

Consolidation

For EDACS and MPT1327, it is often difficult to know whether two sites belong to the same system. For MPT1327, the program can automatically consolidate two sites based on broadcast peer information. For EDACS, you can manually consolidate two sites under one system after you've confirmed they carry the same traffic.

Consolidate

A more complete list will follow ...

Here's what's been fixed or added in release 26.

Secure filter isn't filtering for P25.
Receiver add - disappears from display.
Channel add - disappears from display.
Debug assertion: click inspect to edit a group and close group window - silent (debug) assertion.
Crash editing/creating band plan entry.
Stereo decoding fails on many audio drivers.
Dual decoding from stereo input - stopping left receiver causes crash.
ProVoice jumps to 100% decode when receiver first starts with no signal; trapers to zero %.
MPT1327 - peers tab correct but zero LCN #s in Sites tab.
PRO-2052 not recognized with SI command.
MPT1327 ACKX appears as Denial.
Motorola VHF / UHF recognize Astro voice calls.
Retro import doesn't work.
Import & merge / export of data
MPT1327 RR DB import broken
MPT1327 sync bits not shown.
Site Window - remove obsolete Merge Tool.
Fix duplicate Accept / Decline tool buttons on the import merge
Band plan apply button has no effect?
Dedicated option causes health to toggle between zero and actual health for Motorola signals.
Debug receiver remote DLL broken.
Stereo decoding broken.
P2 TDMA identifier update bug.
CQPSK demodulator is broken.
EDACS fails to acquire previously logged site when frequency is provided.
Manual add of Group or User in delegated system's Groups or Users tab does not appear in delegate system.
Manual delete of Group or User in delegated system's Groups or Users tab has no effect.
Group emergency annunciation settings not persisted.
Motorola modern formats - edit LCN in hex and displays in decimal.
P25 VHF Peers.

New

MPT1327 sync bits - auto detect and display.
MPT1327 now has a Peers tab.
Motorola - radios don't Leave; they log-out.
Emergency button - P25.
P25 pages don't show (possibly related to Emergency button).
Status alert messages for P25.
MPT1327 to use EDACS model for system identity.
MPT1327 SYS - always show as hexadecimal.
Push band plan to all sites.
System delegate & merge (P25, EDACS, MPT1327 and OmniLink).
System consolidate & merge (EDACS, MPT1327).
Motorola - alternate decimal mode "Modern".
Clear hits - add confirmation pop-up.
System Window - add jump-to-delegate tool button.
Systems tab - add delegate column.
Group and User prototype tool buttons should edit prototypes of the delegated system.

Ver 26 doesn't seem to work with certain EDACS 9600 systems. I can't get it to decode American Electric Power. It is the kind that has more than 16 site numbers.

Thanks Tom. We went through ten iterations of preview releases before getting here. Would you please send me a decode log?

I was getting 70-100% health most of the time but it would not populate anything. I deleted Unitrunker.xml because I thought it might have been corrupted but it still wouldn't create any new systems. Went back to the old version and it worked for a while but it may just be a signal strength issue. I'm on the fringe area of two sites. I'll send you decode logs from v 25 and 26 when band conditions are good.

Also on the Wichita Falls EDACS 9600 ProVoice system it still generates large numbers of kicked radio IDs.

I figured out what is happening. In the receiver info window the decode protocol is stuck on ProVoice for some reason. If I uncheck ProVoice and restart the receiver then it shows EDACS96 and works properly.

Tom- Have you had a chance to try it on the Parker County system and see if it works better? I've been out of town working on a big project for a while. I will be able to look at it next weekend when I get back in.

No. I moved to Wichita Falls a few months ago and can't normally hear it any more. Maybe during the next good band opening.

Thanks Tom. I'll make a note of that. Please disregard the decode log request. The ProVoice problem described above is already on the list of things to fix.

Got a confirmed crash report with workaround.

On the System's tab (main window), selecting a row and clicking the Inspect will cause a crash. Work-around is to double-click on the row of interest.

On the Channel's tab (Site or System windows), selecting a row and clicking Inspect will cause a crash. Again, the work-around is to double click instead of using the Inspect button.

Look for a hotfix this weekend.

Here are the changes since 1.0.26.10 ...

New: compiler optimizations.
New: remote DLL can be placed in receiver's "R" folder (separate DLL/configuration per receiver).

Fixed: crash when voice following a delegated system.
Fixed: crash due to zero sites.
Fixed: RV bits in P25 registration response (long and short versions).
Fixed: missing color words treatment for RR DB download.
Fixed: log file sharing mode to permit tailing / viewing in notepad while program active.
Fixed: sort systems as they are loaded (XML was assumed sorted but sometimes wasn't).
Fixed: crash dump was broken in earlier previews of release 26.

Remote.dll

Glad to see the ProVoice issue has already been addressed. However, I am a bit confused as to the Remote.dll issue being fixed. Is there an official Remote.dll I should be using? I was never able to get ZefieMod's Remote.dll to work (even after installing the x86 C++ redistributables), and had been using the original Remote.dll from http://public-xrp.s3.amazonaws.com in conjuction with ZefieMod v1.2013.430.1, however after updating Unitrunker neither Remote.dll seems to work. Is there a way to check if the Remote.dll is actually being used (or does the Debug entry ensure that?) Thanks again for your work.

EDIT: I've also tried placing the Remote.dll in the "R" folder as mentioned above, in the %AppData%\UniTrunker directory, and in the install directory. No luck.

I think the only folder locations that will work are the working data folder (click the folder icon on the archive tab to see where this is) or the receiver folder (click the folder icon on the receiver window).

An easy way to tell the DLL is working is to look for a text file in the working folder or the receiver folder. If the file is there (and updates with calls), the DLL is working.

The whole mechanism is clunky but works.

Remote.dll

Yeah, that didn't work. I'll try to machete my way through remote's source and see what's going on. It worked for months, but something is apparently wrong in how Remote.dll interfaces with everything else. The fact that there are four versions of Remote out in the wild don't help. Anyways, thanks for your your reply, I do see the text file, so I don't think it's Unitrunker. The only thing I would suggest is to make a unified/platform independent directory for all the configuration files. x86/32/64 is a pain in the ***, and Windows (irrespective of where you tell it to store everything) is a nightmare.
