Thinking of moving up to SDRTrunk Version 0.5.0 from version 0.4.0. and have some questions
1. My current version works well but wondering what the benefits of the upgrade may be?
2. I see version 0.5.0 is listed as Alpha so how buggy is this version?
3. Does version 0.5.0 require Java and Decoder Library as does 0.4.0?
Thanks

Answers:
1) v5.0 alpha6 has added DMR support is a good benefit. Improved SDR handling
2) Most of the time it's alpha versions. The developer is doing this as a hobby and therefore he relies on the community for feedback and he addresses the most highest priority bugs present or found.
3) It requires JMBE for P25 Phase I and II as well as DMR

V5.0 no longer requires the user to install the Java Se runtimes nor the Java SDK. All you need to do is download it and extract it go to the bin folder and run sdr-trunk.bat

SDRTrunk v5.0 will install the JMBE library for you in Preferences then selected JMBE and allow it to install.

It's pretty good for a alpha version.

If you're using Linux it's still a matter of building the release. I am a proud windows 10 user. I wouldn't know that process.

Well I made the move...most impressive benefit i see is access to RR database to populate channels and alias lists.
Works pretty slick...i'm sure i'll have some questions as I go along.
Thanks
