Any recommendations on usb extension cables? I have a couple Amazon Basic 3’ cables that my dongles are connected to. Any time I bump one of them they disconnect, not physically disconnect, just lose the connection to my laptop. Or any fix for this? I have tried squeezing the female end and that helped some.

Clean the contacts on both sides of the connection. You've got dust or oxidation borking the connection.

I'm not surprised, I picked up some USB extension cables I found at a thrift store, and the Amazon one, the female connection was extremely loose fitting and super easy to pull the connector out. A little hack, if you can get to the metal connector, is just to use some needle nose and gently pinch the top and bottom just slightly on the female end, enough to give it some better grip, but don't over do it. If the cable is already crap and loose, there is nothing to lose. Its either not going to work, or not going to work if you break it. Another thing I did, if you have the slack, is to tie both ends into a square not so that the connectors are snug. It might help.
