Well by the looks of it, you are going to have to open it up and solder that one or a new one onto the board (if that one is broken). Shouldn't be to hard just be careful when opening it up.

USB Port

I have had my 396t scanner ever since it came on the market and My USB Port has come loose twice, I sent it into RadioWorld in Toronto and had them fix it for me.

That's a start. I have to also have the sma connector fixed as well. I was actually thinking about calling up Durham Radio about a possible repair.

Would Lectron in Peterborough do this as well ya think?

Add a little flux heat up pins and lift, then do ears do not heat up too long and destroy traces. Clean with flux and desolder braid. Set jack into locating pins solder ears and add a little flux and use very fine 60/40 solder and just enough to flow around pins but do not bridge. Secure with some adhesive and put back together.

Jacks on Ebay.

Yes I have done business with RadioWorld, Durham Radio and Also Lectron, check them all out and get the best price and go with it, If you deal with Uniden then check out the price to fix it and also the shipping charges and also the exchange rate on our Canadian money the Canadian dollar is taking a hell of a hit.

If you have a Tech or HAM that knows how to solder surface mount, the 3 jacks on Ebay are $10.94 shipped, Uniden would not sell me one for my Homepatrol so I did some research and found them. Ordered a bag of plugs from China a while back to so I can do custom GPS cables and not need the Null Modem or gender adapter.

With the age, and obvious wear on that radio I would send it to Uniden. I had the same problem on my 6 year old 396T and for one price they not only repaired that connector but did a full bench test and repaired 4 other worn out items like the function button, the scroll knob, keypad, and they fine tuned it. It is like getting a factory refurb for 1 flat rate. They may find issues that you are not even aware of.

Honestly I'm thinking like I said the only two things I need fixed are the sma connector and the usb port.

This radio has been taken and used everywhere and still works great. I too have had my radio for a number of years now. It's been through everything and dropped etc. And still everything functions as it should. Buttons work, light works albeit I don't find the blue contrast to be any good. But it works.
