hello and good evening to all when i hit program.fucntion.program load from v scanner and hit enter its stuck and won't go to v scanner can somebody please help me i would very much appreaciate the help

Scanner is waiting for a V-Folder number. Select the folder you wish to load then Enter if yes is the correct folder.

im trying to use the preloaded data for my state pa but it does nothing with v scanner when i push in 2 than 5 for penna.

PA is actually in Folder 5, bank 8 for Bucks County and 9 for Philly.

If you are in the Philly area, you may want to post in the PA forum for better files for the 96/2096 scanner.

My wife an I drove to visit a granddaughter and her husband over last Thanksgiving. I took a PSR-500 and 600 for the trip but can easily convert my files to use in your scanner. You will need Win96 for opening the files to load to your scanner. Win96 can be used as fully functional trial for 30 days. Software is located at Software for RadioShack PRO-series (PRO-92, 93, 95, 96, 97, 99, 163, 164, 106, 197) and GRE PSR-series (PSR-500, 600, 300, 400) scanners

You will also need to purchase a programming cable from Radio Shack. Cable number is 20-047 at around 33 bucks. RadioShack.com

good moring i did what you told me program,function program 2 than 5 enter than clear reboot than takes me to bank 0 and channel 00 no preload data not the preload the scanner was program with im confussed any help please

When you used PGM>FUNC>PGM>2>5, what appears on line 4 of display? It could be, no preloads are in V-Scanner.

You can also check other folders after pressing 2-LOAD by pressing other folder numbers instead of folder 5. Line 4 will list the file name.

when i enter program,function,program and hit 2 and other numbers for v folders it says empty on line 4 how would i get the preload data back i thought when i hit program function program and push 2 in it would take me to v scanner and i don't know how to program the shortcut 2096 its to confussing ever since i got my digital trunking radio scanner 2096 back from repair its never been the same i send it to repair a speaker and they took a paper clip out the scanner that shorten out the speaker i tried to reset and drop it down the wrong hole on the back of the scanner

If nothing is indicated on line 4 of any v-folders, the service apparently removed them.

You will need a programming cable and Win96 to get them back into V-Scanner.
