Hello,
So, has all or most of the LE transmission in the Vancouver/Portland area gone DE? Are we still able to listen to WSP & OSP transmission?
Thank you!

WSP:
Out of curiosity, what system, (or combination of systems) are they using down there now?
Depending on what district you are in around the state, they use conventional, JIWN or their 700 system.

In Vancouver they are typically on the CRESA system which is patched across to their VHF conventional channels.

In the Vancouver (Dist. 5 WSP) area and down the Gorge, they use their P25 Conventional system, which in the Vancouver area repeats the main xmtr sites (Skamainia; Stacker; Roosevelt) on the HQs tower, which repeats the area around here. 155.58 in/154.68 out. That said, you can also hear them on the IWN system over various WA/OR sites as well. The Kelso units are simplex sadly with their main xmtr site on Green Mt. Occasionally I hear them on the IWN sites. When they were not Digital I used to be able to hear them with no issue, sadly not now. They experimented with a site on Rainier Hill across the river in Oregon as this hits the I5 corridor nicely. Why they didn't pursue this I don't know. You can also listen to them on the CRESA 911 System as stated above, however this is a monitor only TG so the Clark County/City units can listen. From someone who helped design their TRSs, this is like their old analog TRS. He indicated to me that they will NEVER have cross talk capabilities (he did not elaborate as to why). On the CRESA 911 system currently, LE is completely encrypted (sadly) but Fire/EMS/C-Tran and a couple TGs assigned to civilian patrols are in the clear. The Fire Tac TGs for some reason do not come in well for me. I'm not sure why although I am btwn multiple xmtr sites and surrounded by Cell Towers so therein might lay the answer.

Pretty typical of any state police agency. I think they have a patch via LERN
