I've used the Panavise Clip Caddy 777 for years. It's similar to the proclip. It will mount with included double-sided tape, screws, or the Panavise InDash mount (custom made for different vehicles). The InDash mount uses existing bolts in your vehicle to place the 777 at just the right spot.

The 777 also will accept either a button back like the SDS/436/396, or a belt clip. So versatile.

I wouldn't recommend using that setup in the winter with hot air blowing on the scanner.

One of my customers fried his GPS module doing that.

Here's a picture from the underside of my amateur radio mounted on my motorcycle:

What I did was "sacrificed" a Kenwood AAA battery pack... by permanently mounting a RAM mount to it. Batteries can no longer fit inside, but it is attached to the motorcycle battery.

You could easily do the same with the Uniden... When you get the replacement battery door, you could do this same thing to the existing door!

Seems like that might vibrate too much, especially on a Harley.

Good point, but the clip locks in at the bottom of the long vent and another vent director inside is always pointed up anyway. Since the scanner is below the vent, I don't think it will get heat.

Anyway, I printed this for fun. I usually just leave my scanner at home and stream to my phone when I'm out and about. I expect to use it on long trips though.

Whatever you do, don't buy the one from zip scanners, it's a piece of junk, that they charge double the price that you could get it on Amazon, and as the same thing just a regular cell phone holder. They claim it is for a scanner, and fits any scanner, they are full of it

So you got suckered into this as well? :)

Garbage. Doesn't hold the scanner well at all.

Due to the fact that I have a Tundra (huge cup holders), I picked up the junk model from ZipScanner (mentioned above). The expandable base fits the cup holder great, but the mount doesn't hold the scanner. I would love to get a RAM, but none of the bases will be big enough to stay in the cup holder. I am forced to use the cupholder due to the prior configuration of a mobile mount scanner - the length of the antenna cable and speaker cable only reach to the cup holder, and then just barely. I would rather not tear out the center console to figure out the wiring that was professionally installed. Any suggestions for a large cup holder base that would fit a RAM mount.

Well, I decided that it would be easier to just get extension cables for the antenna and speaker connections and then mount it somewhere other than the cup holder. Now the fun part.

Where in the hell can I find a reasonably priced BNC extension cable - 6 ft?

Seems to be a tough find. One end BNC female. The other can be SMA or BNC male. I have the adapter if it is BNC. Three feet would limit mounting options...

and buy you 2 bnc connectors and what ever length cable you need and make your own extension

This is what I used for my BCD436HP and currently for my SDS100. However, access to the side controls is limited at best. I keep the radio clip on the scanner and clip it to the top, so that I can expand the sides of the cup holder as wide as I can to allow easier access to the left side controls on the scanner.

It's a cheap work around that I have used for over a year plus.

Think this would work with sds100 in vehicle? Cup holder mount, and it looks to have retractable or expandable shelf extensions on bottom and sides.

I see what you mean by side control access. Clipping the belt clip to the top would give you a more secure mount if anything. If you are on the go, not much need to access Menu and Function buttons. If you have to access those for any reason it would be best to pull over to the side of the road to navigate the scanner's menu options so as not to distract you from the road. Looks like it would give you easy access to turn on and off the QKs for what you need as you drive. I have my XYL trained on the aspects of QK/FL navigational specifics while we are motoring, and she does quite well.

As I mentioned before, I saw someone using this and he gives it a quick couple of wraps at the scanner base with one of his wife's ponytail ties to seat it firmly in the holder and it looks good, surprisingly. He uses a thick fuzzy black one that somewhat matches the scanner case color.

Fashionable colors and designs are optional, of course. :)

Radio Shack? Thought they were out of business by now.
