I've noticed that whenever there is a brush fire in the county that will use the VFIRE or LA County V-Command channels, a COMPLAN announcement goes out on VFIRE 25 (154.2875) as well as base contact to a party I can't copy about other freqs that may or may not be available in the region.

I was under the impression 25 was a mobile to mobile tac channel only, but apparently it's now a good one to monitor for COMPLANs.

Are you sure you're not hearing bleedover from 154.280? Quite often, dispatch centers make mutual aid announcements over VFIRE21 154.280. VFIRE25 can easily receive this on a scanner and make you think you're hearing the traffic on 154.2875

I was about to ask a question about this. I keep hearing Comm Center say, "Tactics on VFIRE 24" or sometimes 25 or 26. I wasn't sure if they were talkgroups or conventional frequencies/repeaters.

Now I see that they are narrowband versions of the old OES WHITE 1, 2, and 3 frequencies with the addition of three more.

WHITE 1 - 154.2800
VFIRE 22 - 154.2650
VFIRE 23 - 154.2950
VFIRE 24 - 154.2725
VFIRE 25 - 154.2875
VFIRE 26 - 154.3025

Oh... okay. I was looking at the list in Operations Bulletin #28 and it still lists 154.280 as WHITE 1. I now see that bulletin is from February of 2011.
