Anyone know of some good plans to build an antenna I could rig up in my truck? I will mostly be listening to the 150 MHz range.

Thanks,

I just use Radio Shack's mobile scanner antenna. For a while I was just listening in the VHF range, so I just took out the other two antenna pieces along with the coils and just used the longer one. Worked great. One thing I did notice, was when I took off that top coil and replaced the middle antenna with the long one, it worked even better. Now I just listen to my Pro-96. Hope this helps.

Anything about 18 inches long will work - roof mount, magnetic mount, anything. It's the mount that's difficult to build yourself, the antenna is just a piece of wire. Buy an NMO 150 MHz antenna and mount it in the center of the roof. That's probably the easiest and cheapest way to monitor a single band.
