Good morning,

At about 0700 this morning, I heard Theodore-Dawes FD coordinating with SouthFlight for a scene response on I-10 in Mobile County. They were using 155.3475 which, I found, is a national mutual aid frequency VMED 29. Perhaps conditions were just right for me to copy the traffic but this was a new one for me. I didn't find anything about this frequency in the Mobile County page so if anyone is a bit closer, perhaps we can hear what the users call this channel and we'll get it submitted to RRDB.

In 2012, ADPH designated 155.3475 (CSQ) as the "VHF Air Med" channel for landing zone coordination in the state. However adoption has been fairly limited. Most agencies continued to use HEAR (155.340) or local channels.

453.750 was designated as the UHF counterpart, as most if not all volunteer fire departments on UHF already used that channel for on scene/tactical use.

Since it is a Nationwide (if it was 156.7 PL) allocation (Common across the US), it would not be listed under each potential user/county

I have heard similar traffic on 155.3475 in Lee County as well. However, at least in Lee, medical helicopters typically just communicate with the agency of interest directly on their system. For instance, Life Flight talks to Lee County EMS (ETS) on 155.895/154.025. If a call is in Auburn, they communicate with Auburn FD on a MMCCD P25 event talkgroup.
