FIRE 12, FIRE 13, 7AG87, CDF-SP-TAC-A, CDF-SP-TAC-B, NIFC C7, NIFC T7 all appear in the template. However, I cannot find them in the database. What are they?

FIRE 12 & 13 are BART talkgroups
7AG87 does not exist, it is likely a typo of 7AG85
CDF-SP-TAC-A is now CDF T25
CDF-SP-TAC-B is now CDF T26
NIFC C7 no longer exists
NIFC T7 is now NIFC T6

These are all completely unrelated to MERA

Just to confirm, is the IDEN set the standard BEE00 or is it a different Iden set? I am having trouble setting up NAS on a Harris portable.

In the template, there is a PD CAR A, FD CONV A, FD CONV B. Is this what CNV 13, CNV 14, CAR 1 and CAR 2 have been renamed?

PD CAR A, PW FLAG A, and FD CONV A & B are 700 MHz simplex channels.

CAR 1 & 2, FLAG 1 & 2, and CNV 13 & 14 are UHF simplex channels, and have not been renamed.

Just to confirm, is the IDEN set the standard BEE00 or is it a different Iden set? I am having trouble setting up NAS on a Harris portable.

The WACN is BEE00

At 0:52 in this video, ICS CALL appears on a MERA mobile radio. However, ICS CALL is not in the MERA Next Gen template. Also noteworthy is that unlike the previous MERA system, PD CALL, PD TALK, FD CALL, FD TALK, LG CALL, LG TALK are not in the template.

Those videos were made before cutover, when the radios were operating on the old system. The functionality is the same.

Also noteworthy is that unlike the previous MERA system, PD CALL, PD TALK, FD CALL, FD TALK, LG CALL, LG TALK are not in the template.

The call/talk groups were not used on the old system, and were eliminated on the new system.

FD Dispatch (62928) could still be heard on the old system up until a few days ago.

Fire station alerting was still being done on the old system due to issues with the new FSA system (Mach Alert). I hadn't noticed they dropped the patch and FD DSP / CTL H2 are no longer active on the old system. I guess they worked out the bugs.

The only activity I've heard on the old system in the last few days is San Rafael and Fairfax DPW. They're currently transitioning public works, so I'm not sure if those agencies don't have all of their equipment yet, or if they're just operating on the old talkgroups (user error).

The only agency I'm still hearing on the old system is Fairfax DPW. They probably haven't switched their (dual-band) mobiles over to the new talkgroups.

Also, the low band paging frequencies (46.50, 46.28, and 46.12) are no longer active. They are hard patched to CTL H2 on the old system, which is no longer being used.

There are a number of talkgroups in the 141xx range that are being used for volunteer paging. They are multi-selected with FD DISP on the initial dispatch for calls involving volunteer FDs. Presumably the volunteers have Unication pagers that are set to alert when their talkgroup becomes active. So far I have:

14101 - Tiburon Station 10
14103 - Bolinas
14112 - Stinson Beach
14114 - Tomales

Also there is a TG 15700 with around 35 affiliated radios but no voice activity. There are around 35 staffed fire stations in the county, so I think this is some kind of data talkgroup for the new fire station alerting system.

I know there are a few conventional (non-trunked) 700/800 frequencies for the Next Gen system. On the fire template, there are the CONV 13 and CONV 14 channels.

I've confirmed that CONV 13 & 14 are still the old T-band frequencies (all fire radios are tri-band). The 700/800 conventional frequencies are PW FLAG A, PD CAR A, and FD CONV A & B.

FD CONV A & B are only on a few templates now including MMWD, SAR, and County Parks/DPW since fire chose to stick with CONV 13 & 14.
