No. Depending upon the transmiiter site you might be getting the back lobe off an antenna targeting another area. Hard to say what you are listening to without more info. HTH.

VOA has 3 transmission sites near Greenville and Ahoskie NC, collectively known as the Edward R. Murrow Transmitter Station. I understand only one of those locations is now active. Although VOA is an external service, it can be easily recieved in North America.

It was on the frequency of 7465khz that I heard Voice of America on.I don't remember the time though.Late afternoon or early evening I believe.

Based on frequency, you heard VOA's Greenville, SC transmitter, in the 0130-0200utc timeframe.
This is their only BC on that frequency.
