I have just recently used XCorder but after looking at some posts on the board found out it's now called Vox2File apparently.

I looked on the net and on the forums for a link to the new program, but can't seem to find a working download link.

Does anyone know where to get Vox2File?

NVM, I kept trying Google over and over, and found http://www.radioreference.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38655

Odd, the first and second time I tried both Google and RR's Forum Search, I couldn't find it. LoL.

EDIT: So are both pieces of software dead now? I can't seem to find a working website under either name.

Red if you are using an Uniden or newer GRE scanner, you would be far and away better off to use ID Tracker or it's sibling ID Tracker II. Both are freeware and will log frequencies, talkgroups, times and so forth in addition to recording (where the scanner's protocols allow for it).

There is some development also going on with Tracker II, unlike some packages. The links are in the wiki, for each scanner and in the recording software article 73 Mike

Speaking of Xcorder - (VOXtoFile) - how do you record in Mp3 format, instead of WAV?

EDIT: Ok I got that figured out, but for some reason I am not hearing audio out of my laptop speakers. I have tried Line-In and Microphone.

I am definitely going to have to try that, I remember ID Tracker and II from trying to find Talkgroups for Trunking but never remember it doing conventional frequencies.

I looked and never noticed that feature. Where did you end up finding it?

No Audio

It was in the Help file - but I was only able to record in .wav at a lower bit rate. I am still having trouble hearing audio out of my laptop speakers. I have tried Line-In and Microphone. Any Ideas? Do i need to get a splitter and external speakers?

Thanks for the links - Does anybody know why I can't hear the audio from the PC speakers? I have no problem recording, it would nice to hear the audio, while it is recording.

Speaking of....

Speaking of XCorder and Vox2File, has anyone seen a download of this XCorder Lite?

I thought XCorder was just XCorder but I've been seeing references to XCorder Lite, lately.
