VSP portables

Do the VSP have the ability to utilize mobile/vehicular repeaters for their portables?

Not in any modern everyday patrol cruisers.

There may be some older SUVs and whatnot still in service that have crossband repeaters that still function. Plus at least one tactical vehicle and command posts still have repeaters installed.

Okay, I was wondering because of the terrain and situations they might find themselves away from their car radios. The terrain is rough but I suppose the mountain top base stations do a good job receiving their portables at elevation. I did not know that at some point they had crossband repeaters
