W I-10 fire dept. communications

W I-10 Radios


Effective Mid July, West Harris County EMS and West I-10 FD are
going to be dispatched by the Cypress Creek EMS Comm Center, off of
FM 1960. I have no idea what 'Comm' Channel they will be called or
so forth, but I am pretty sure that is what it is about. The
department appears to be getting ready for the switch. Since I work
at HCECC, I have heard a little about this.

West I-10 and West Harris Co. EMS are also going to UHF and getting off the County 800 system. I don’t know the freq’s yet for their UHF channels. I thought I was told July 1 but I guess that maybe has been changed.

There's an update in the works, but here goes with a quote from another scanner group:
