For the most part, my Whistler TRX-1 picks up a particular 900 MHz trunking system just fine. Nevertheless, I've noticed when I scan Low Band VHF, Hi Band VHF, and 470-500 MHz UHF for extended periods of time without scanning said 900 MHz system, the scanner is slow to start receiving the 900 MHz system well again. It shows fewer bars when receiving control channel data and the analog voice comes in with a lot of static. This resolves itself after some time scanning the system.
I am curious if anyone has an explanation for this. I have chalked it up as the scanner needing to get "readjusted" and undergo this rough "warm-up" period after not scanning the particular band for a while. Is there any truth to this, or is there another explanation that I am missing? Thanks in advance ^-^
