For this forum

Warnings about getting illegally cloned software for Moto, G/E, Harris, etc. really doesn't apply here. The Unication software appears to be freely available to subscribers/purchasers and is highly unlikely to be cloned

Is there a specific example of where this has occurred?

I'm not sure what the issue is?

I'm not sure what the issue is?

For users not logged in there's a huge wall of text that starts with "To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software..."

As I get new posts via an RSS reader, I see this (and the ever-present 'please turn on javascript' message) on a regular basis.

I don't see the big deal here. If it bothers you, just scroll past it
I don't think it's really that big of a deal to scroll past it on the site, but if you are brining new posts in via an RSS aggregator, he has to scroll past it for EVERY post, not just the top of the page, which I can see as being a pain, but I don't think there's an easy workaround

Just click here - you can hardly miss it

Mike

I don't see anything so I'm not sure what you're talking about?? Can you send a screenshot?

What I'm suspecting is that you are not logged in or you haven't dismissed the warning. For most people who are logged in, they dismiss the warning and never see it again.

I am logged in and I know how to dismiss it - the point is, in the Unication, Budget and Entry Transceivers and CB forums, the warning is not needed;

The warning show up in all the forums in the Commercial, Professional Radio and Personal Radio category. It's a global setting.

As for it not being needed, it clearly says "Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value". Anybody seeing that message for the first time will probably realize that Unication isn't charging for the software so sharing it should be ok (although they do have a copyright on it). Then they'll dismiss it.
