After having a few items sold in the classifieds, and paid for via PayPal, I receive these emails that I've never had before. Is the an RR / Classifieds issue? All payments were processed and cleared ok.

I'm very aware of scams and I didn't click on anyone's links for anything, anywhere.

All I did is sold some items here on RR and the RR buyer paid me with PayPal via RR's system. As I said the payments are legit and have cleared. This definitely has something to do with accepting PayPal payments through RR's Classifieds system. I'm sure the admins will figure it out.

If I recall correctly, Paypal is doing a system wide upgrade of certain security components and processors. I'm not sure what the specifics are, but it's posted on their website along with getting occasional e-mail reminders about it.

Very likely. They may have implemented some new safeguards that require some changes in the payment processing scripts on servers that are involved in PayPal payment transactions.

Awhile back there was some warnings RR users were seeing if the RR URL's began with http:// vs. htpps://

PayPal periodically updates its payment API for security and other reasons. Sometimes that breaks compatibility, and sites that interface with PayPal (like RR in this case) need to update things to keep up.

We're not using any of Paypal's IPN components on our end in the classifieds, so these calls are failing because we don't have them configured for use.

You can safely ignore the warnings and I'll look into why Paypal is contacting our servers regarding payments between sellers.

As a recent *purchaser* through the radio reference classifieds, I can confirm there's an issue. As I clicked past the payment section, PayPal tried to redirect me back to radioreference.com. Instead I got a 404 page on radioreference.com for a payment_verification.php page.

I thought my transaction had bombed out, but I had email receipt. Thankfully, I also got an email from my seller quickly indicating when my gear would ship.

Thanks Lindsay, I figured as much. I know you run a tight ship! I thought I'd post it as others may run into it, and some people might panic and not ship the item thinking somethings not cool.
