Is there anyone here who lives/works in the Dufur or Tygh Valley area of Wasco County and knows a little more about it? I'll be attending an event in the area as part of a volunteer project, and I'd love to learn more aboot communications in the area--Sheriff, Fire, Ems, blahblahblah. I've checked out the database, and think I have a good understanding, but would love an on-the-ground perspective.

Well, Dufur has Dufur Fire and its all volenteer; they do have BLS ambulance as well. There is Pine Hollow EMS which is all volenteer but I think they can do ALS.

Wasco SO has a pretty good system over several sites in the county.

Neighboring Sherman County is on that multi-county P25 Phase II system called 'Frontier Digital Network'. That might be fun to monitor. I haven't been up that way since it's been put into service. Not sure you'll get enough signal from Dufur or Tygh Valley, but you might.
