MSP 39.620 is another confirmed chit chat channel as Whistler has indicated, they have that freq in all of the cars and I do not believe Barracks C Cumberland is wired for monitoring or dispatching on this freq. Far enough from HQ to just use as another secret channel.
39.620 110.9 PL
I just noticed that this is the channel labelled B16 in most cruiser radios, per the MSP listing in the database. It's specified use is "Wash. DC Area Police Mutual Aid Radio System (P-MARS) Simulcast..." Maybe it's a quick few channels away from their normal dispatch freq and since it's not being used for anything else local...they may use it as a private channel.

That could very well be - it's been well documented in the past that MSP will use a channel for private chit-chat and other things that is not used in their region. For example a couple of years back, someone reported a drug bust on the Rockville channel, but he was in Harford county. With the holidays around the corner, it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

While we are on the Washington County subject....

Last night, MSP and WCSD worked an accident, with the possibility of a pursuit.....

I was on the Sharpsburg pike coming home from work and heard them say "switch to Tac 3"...

I have ALL of the MSP statewide freqs in my radio, and heard nothing in Washington County........

I did hear the dispatcher initiate the "10-3" on 39.34....

Anyone know what "Tac 3" is?

Carl

Hey Spanner try 39.60, that is WCSD channel 2

For clarification,
WCSO is the same as WCSD (sheriff's office vs sheriff's department).

AND 39.60 IS WCSO (WCSD) channel 2.

My question then: Is WCSO channel 2 (39.18) in MSP's radios as "tac 3"?

And I think 39.60 is also MSP Channel B-5, Berlin, just outside of Ocean City, with a different tone code. Also of note is that A-5, Hagerstown, and B-15, Belair, are on the same freq, but with different tone codes. With the PL disabled, Hagerstown and Belair troopers can routinely hear each other (or at least the other barrack's dispatcher), depending on elevation and weather conditions. There may be more frequency sharing, but I didn't check thoroughly.
