Where is the dividing line between East and West Wastenaw PD dispatch? US-23 Maybe? Is it a straight line?
Also is Ann Arbor PD still sharing with Washtenaw West? Does anyone else think that was a dumb move?

Do Pittsfield and Ypsilanti have their own seperate dispatch? Milan? Saline?
So much has changed in the last 10 years.

Thanks. :)

There is no real line, I don't know all the departments off hand that are on EAST vs WEST, but Ann Arbor PD is on WEST. Pittsfield Twp, Ypsilanti PD & Milan PD are on EAST. Saline is still on their own dispatch channel.

US-23 is the rough dividing line between Metro East & Metro West. Since that is not a straight line, nor the exact border on most jurisdictions, it is a guideline.

Metro West has:
WCSO west of US-23 (Scio, Dexter, Lodi, Manchester)
MSP countywide
AAPD (including parking enforcement)

Metro East has:
WCSO east of US-23 (Ypsi Twp, Superior, Ann Arbor Twp)
Ypsi City PD
Northfield Twp PD
Pittsfield Twp PD
Milan PD

Chelsea PD, Saline PD, WCC, Concordia, EMU, UM, & St. Joe Hospital, have their own respective dispatch talkgroups.

Thank you very much for that information.

Thank you so much for that informative data. That will help me to lock out things I'm not interested in.

I am shocked that Ann arbor City Police does not have their own talk group.

One more question regarding Washtenaw/FDs:

Which TG does Ann Arbor TWP FD use as their dispatch? I can't seem to figure it out. I don't ever hear them on 81Fire1 w/ AA City FD.

Does anyone know if Salem TWP is on Metro East for WCSO? I believe I have heard them on West.

On another note, this link should help you out with your listening. Washtenaw County (MI) - The RadioReference Wiki

I think Salem is handled by MSP on the West talkgroup. If they were busy, I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone from the East talkgroup head up there to assist.

WIKI: Sheriff: York Twp is dispatched on the East talkgroup as 75X.

Ann Arbor Twp uses 81FIRE2 along with Ypsilanti City, Ypsilanti Twp and Superior Twp.

You might want to add the U of M system to you scan list. Football Saturdays can have some interesting traffic.

We might need an update on York. I think MSP is handling York, with the occasional WCSO countywide. I could be in error.

Geeze, really makes me miss the good old VHF days... 155.130, 154.80, 155.550, 156.030, 154.710, 154.905, 158.805, 42.860, 37.160 & 37.100 (!!) and damn, I still remember those freqs, 21 years after leaving Michigan!

Unless criminals and other idiots have fled Washtenaw County over the past few years, 81 METRO EAST would seem to be incredibly overloaded with MSP, YPD, PTPD and County Ypsi Twp Superior Township (good old MacArthur Blvd) patrols all sharing that one channel for primary. I know it's good for situational-awareness/interop, but I remember waay back when the public safety powers that be in Washtenaw County promoted one of the advantages of trunked systems being that each agency could have their own channels... I wonder what the patrol officer unions & Dispatcher unions say about all of them being crammed onto one shared dispatch channel? Glad to know that Chelsea, Saline, & a few others put safety over budget and dispatch on their own talk groups. For being so small, Chelsea was always pretty smart, continuing to maintain & use their old VHF stuff & self-dispatching after joining the original 800MHz consortium. Likewise, Saline also had a standalone 800MHz channel they could use.

I regularly hear the York Twp car (75x) on the East talkgroup. When no car is on, I hear MSP get the run on the West talkgroup. I want to say when they first changed over to the East/West talkgroups, York Twp was on the West. Probably why it's still listed that way? Changed somewhere along the line.

DNR also use the West talkgroup when communicating with Metro.
