No, not recently, however, a few years ago, before rebanding talks started, Waterbury was talking about a Motorola Type 2 TRS. A few months back in the Waterbury newspaper (Republican/American), they talked about going P-25. (unknown conventional or TRS set-up).

Keep 464.8750 in your scanner. Here in the Waterbury area, it is used at Taft School dpl 546.

In passing I talk to the radio techs from utilty comm. they said Waterbury is getting new radios , but are staying with LTR multi-net in the lower 800 band at the end of the year 2006

Well, my understanding was that Waterbury had to change the system due to the inability of the existing EF Johnson Multinet equipment to be reconfigured to the new channel numbers.

Waterbury had entered into discussions with Motorola and with EF Johnson regarding the replacement system. The last that I had heard through the grapevine was that the Motorola proposal not accepted and that EFJohnson would be staying in Waterbury BUT with EFJ's new IP25 system. This would be internet protocol based P25 system.

If Waterbury's radio techs are saying that they will continue on the EFJ MNII system, I would have to say that EFJ's original statements must have been wrong about whether the MNII could be reflashed with the new channel assignments.

July 1 is supposed to be the start of the migration from 866-869 down to 851-854. However, many previous licensees in 851-854 have not vacated the channels as they were supposed to so I would imagine it will all be delayed a bunch.

With the new IP25, will I still be able to scan in conventional mode or am I out of luck with that also now?
