Waterloo incident?

I heard the York Regional Police chopper over Waterloo tonight, helping them with some sort of search. They said that they had found their primary target, but were unable to find the "possibly injured party". They tried to communicate using 1TAC02 (not sure which system that is) but were unsuccessful. The York Regional Police dispatcher had to communicate with AIR2 and relay it to the command post on the ground in Waterloo.

That's truly pathetic! Between fleenet, radio patches, phone patches, cell phones, simplex frequencies, national SAR VHF frequencies, air VHF freqs, fire ground channels, for god sake, just use and FRS for half an hour.

Well the Edacs systems has patches to both OPC on 142.770mhz and 1PCPOL on Fleetnet.

Not sure what the York Region chopper has for radio equipment.
