Waukesha county scanning problems.

Hello, I am new to the form and looking for some help. Previously, I bought a uniden bearcat that was analog and couldn’t scan truck channels hence oasis that Waukesha county uses. Recently I bought a uniden home patrol 2. It shows Waukesha public safety such as the sheriff, and local community channels from the police to the fire dispatch and so on, but there’s no audio. Weather radio works well, and sometimes when scanning all the channels it might do a fire dispatch from the county, yet silence on the law dispatch channels. I also tried changing the squelch. What should I do to get audio from the sheriff and law dispatch?

Waukesha County in on a Simulcast system. The HP2 is not designed to receive simulcast systems you need a SDS100/SDS200 for simulcast or a SDR setup.

It does not look like you are listening to the correct system. Waukesha County is on WiPSN (Wisconsin Public Safety Network (WiPSN) Trunking System, Milwaukee & Waukesha, Wisconsin) and that does not look like what you are monitoring in the photo you provided. There is no TG 19216 listed on that system in the database.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I did a little more digging and it appears you are attempting to monitor this system: Waukesha County Public Safety Trunking System, Countywide, Wisconsin. This system has not been used for years. You need to update your programming as it seems to be many years out of date.

You need to listen to the WiPSN system as mentioned above, but you will not have a good experience with the HP scanners. You need add a ton of attenuation in order for it to sort of work. The HP scanners can't handle the multiple tower sites of a simulcast system being received all at slightly different times and usually stays mute.

After I updated it with the newest database software, this error message came up. I wiped the SD card on it because I saw to do that in a previous post. Now when I turn it on the same error message shows. There’s no way to connect the scanner to the computer because this error message stays on the screen. How do I fix it to: 1) put the information back onto the SD card and 2) put the new database on so it works?
