I think others have mentioned this in the past, but looks like we have some new folks listening to Washington County posting lately so as a reminder, WCCCA (the dispatch agency for most Washington County departments) has a nice website that displays active fire calls on a map 24/7. They don't show medical calls due to HIPAA (patient confidentiality) but will show all other fire calls in the county including motor vehicle accidents. Can be a good way to see exactly where stuff is going on and who is assigned, especially at big incidents. If you click on the units assigned, it'll open up a second box that shows all the units assigned to the call, when they go enroute, arrived, cleared, etc.

Best part is the page automatically refreshes every minute so it's up to date.

www.wccca.com and click "live incident tracking system" on left upper part of the page.

An FYI to everyone who is curious, when you launch the Incident Tracking page from WCCCA Home, it shows the following:

"WCCCA is Implementing a New Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System. Beginning June 2, 2009, this site will be unavailable for an undetermined amount of time. "

This will encourage me to listen to my scanner more, and rely on the site less... :D

From WCCCA's site:

"At 0500 on June 30th, 2009 this site will not receive updated incidents. This site will be updated to receive the new data in the near future."

I miss having the 48-hour call log...I wonder if they're going to bring it in eventually.

I also hope they bring back the unit status. I'm on llight duty and want to see when/if my crew arrives and if they are recalled. It was a neat feature.

Yeah, I miss it, too. I keep clicking the units out of habit, hoping to see the times...not that they are of importance to me personally. They were just...interesting.

Welcome to RadioReference, by the way...if you've got questions, we've got answers, albeit some better than others. :D

UPDATE:

The ITS has been updated with the following:

- Dispatch, Enroute, Arrival, and Clear times
- Color-coded incidents (Blue = Wash, Green = Clack)
- Streaming radio traffic (via RadioReference.com) :D
- Fire unit ID info (still a work in progress)

Good times! :)

For this users with the BlackBerry, whats handy with the new Incident Tracking Page, is that it will show the entire sidebar as seen above perfectly on the phone's internet browser.
