Folks,

There are a number of activities that we are working on the "back end" to provide off line access to the database and the site information.

First, we are planning off line access via CDROM to database information from Apps such as Win96 and Butel's software applications. This would allow you to program your scanners from CDROM.

The 2nd offline access to the database from CDROM - we are investigating approaches to making this happen.

Don't worry, while I know everyone hasn't seen much in the way of new rollouts and significant innovation on the site, realize that we just had another baby, so times are crazy... this summer we should be back on track to pumping out the new features etc for the site.

Thanks for the update. Also don't forget that sometimes simple is good too. I wouldn't mind seeing all of the TRS information as .pdf's dumped into a per-state directory.

Cool deal... looking forward to it! Let me know if I can be of any assistance on it. Sounds like a fun project!

IP banned

All he'd have to do
(or she lol) is use a proxy or if they are at caf'e just go to another cafe'
or refresh their ip and hope they get lucky and get another ip ...
Of couse they can scan for another wifi B or G
So if they are intent on destruction lol
then they will just try again
I hope they don't Cause I like this site
Just a heads up....
and my two cents
Cheers ,
Crista

Banning the IP address is probably a temporary problem because most internet service providers use dynamic host internet protocol addressing schemes.

If the person was using someone else's WiFi connection then banning the IP address won't stop them.

Perhaps one way is to limit the TCP connections to 4 or 8. This would throttle any possible
"pirate" from gathering the data and selling it on Ebay.

Naah, I say let them gather all they want and try to sell it on Ebay. The revenue generated by the legal action against those people would probably pay for 100 years of running this site. :D
