I decided to try out ProScan and it works beautifully on my Windows 10 machine, but on the Win 7 laptop, NADA. Of course with my luck, the machine I planned to actually use it on is the one not cooperating.

It "appears" to be connected to the scanner on port 3, but no control, no logging, no display...
Did you install the driver on the Win 7 machine? Link is for the BCD436HP but it's the same driver for the SDS100.

Check the cable and see what the Win Device Manager shows.

You da man! Apparently what was 'automagic' in Win 10, required manual intervention in Win 7. That did fix the problem, although I'm kinda bummed about the resolution of my old laptop... it's only 1600 X 900 (not 96dpi), so the display is blue, not in color and the characters are not perfect. The logging function works great though!

While I've only played with this program for about six hours, there is a 95% chach I'll be buying it and the first of next month.... I just have to see if it'll do that one thing...

THANKS AGAIN!

In the OPTIONS TAB under SCANNER SPECIFIC near the bottom you will find the tabs to make PROSCAN use the scanner config file for display colors.
The location of the file is where your profile is stored.

I guess I should probably install Sentinel on that computer too then so it has the file for reference. Thanks. I'm having so much fun playing and learning today. :)

I'm everywhere Focker!
I've rarely ever found a program so useful and enjoyable as I've found ProScan. It's one of those programs that "just do it for me". So, even though I just downloaded it today, I just had to buy it! Is that praise or what? -- AWESOME PROGRAM!

If the author wasn't so rude it would be perfect. :p

@KevinC what I have found out about Bob is you get treated how you treat him.
Those of us that know him know this about him it is just the other users that need to learn this.
He was being a little tongue in cheek. There was some guy in the Proscan thread beating everyone up. I really hope he got banned.

@Omega-TI , I'm would suggest using the recording/logging feature of Proscan and search through the 150-160 and 450-470 ranges. I bet you would enjoy id'ing new frequencies. I personally have not listened to my radios in over a year, but enjoy finding new frequencies, id'ing and submitting to the RadioReference database.

Also, you might want to try using ethernet for connectivity instead of using USB; you don't have to deal with serial port vs mass storage. There is some setup for the networking, but I think a lot easier than USB.

The OP has a SDS100 which does not have ethernet connectivity.

Excellent idea! I'll figure out how to search today, because I'm back to work tomorrow, I might have a surprise or two when I get back. :)(y)
