A WeldCo deputy attemped to stop a motorcycle nb I-25 at mm 240. The rider took off northbound and a short chase ensued. Speeds unknown. Type of bike unknown.
At 1824 the pursuit was called off by the weldco deputy
Shortly thereafter the bike took exit 245 (the mead exit) and crashed on the ramp.
A CSP trooper was atop the ramp at the time and attempted first aid.
The single rider, an adult male unknown age, did not survive his injuries and was declared dead on-scene.
A medical helicopter was dispatched but was not utilitzed.
A coroner was dispatched to the scene.
